A bit about me

I'm Ardyn (they/them). I've called Seattle home for the past 15 years. I grew up in Southern California, and while the Pacific Northwest has become my home, I never fully lost my need for sun and open water, and I’ve mostly made peace with the rain. Under the sun and by the ocean is where I feel most grounded and at home.

Outside of work, food is a big part of my life. I love to cook and I'll try just about anything, the more unusual the better. When I'm not in the kitchen, I'm usually outside. Swimming, snowboarding and climbing are my stress relief, and I spend as much time camping and in nature as I can manage. I share my home with my lab, Harvey, and my cat Dexter who are besties. Dexter likes to make an appearance in session. He’s a good listener.

I earned my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University in Seattle, a program that aligned with my commitment to social justice and affirming care.

I identify as queer, trans, and polyamorous, which informs not just how I work with clients, but how I move through the world. I understand firsthand what it means to navigate identity, relationships, and belonging outside of mainstream norms, and I bring that lived experience into the work I do every day.

I believe the therapeutic relationship is a critical part of my work with clients and I look forward to getting to know you!
